ACTEL AXLE®BASIC OPERATION
TheACTEL AXLE®active electronic LOS prevention system is basically an electronic control system. It consists of three parts:
- an input system,
- an output system
- a protection system
The input and output systems are constructed to create a very robust system.
The active system controls the voltage of the track circuit. This makes the train or vehicle behave like an ideal short circuit between the rails. This control makes it a versatile solution. It can be adapted to the conditions in a particular application. For instance for different frequencies of the track circuit.
This active mechanism gives the ACTEL AXLE®system its biggest advantage. Regardless of the electrical characteristics of the contamination layer: linear or non-linear, the system will remain effective. Where other systems only give some improvement for non-linear contamination characteristics,ACTEL AXLE®is the unique solution that lifts these limitations of other solutions and also solves Loss of Shunt problems for contamination layers with high linear resistance values.
